IRIS ROOT Latin Name: Iris pallida/Germanica
Use: When the baby teeth appear the gums are often swollen and painful. Babies will constantly put things in their mouths and chew them in search of relief – the ideal object is an iris root which is rubbery and aids dentition. It doesn’t splinter or break and to guarantee maximum hygiene it is attached to a cotton string (Sekem Demeter). Just a few seconds of chewing releases the active principles. Do not put the string around the child’s neck, but give it to him/her to hold. Watch the child while he/she is chewing the iris root. Maintenance: After use the root should be dried at room temperature and it’s consistency checked. If it is dirty, soak the root in boiling water for a few seconds. If kept in it’s wrapping at a constant, fresh temperature (10-2O°), the root will keep for two years.
